Based in Norfolk, England, Midnightskys blends science with art creating unique contemporary art images. All of Midnightskys unique contemporary images are created from original images collected by our state of the art telescopes. From our close neighbours in the heavens, the moons and planets that form our solar system, to the more distant but hauntingly beautiful nebulas and star clusters that adorn our home, the milky way and beyond to the far flung reaches of the universe, where remote galaxies swirl, set like jewels...in a Midnightskys. Midnightskys, unique contemporary images: artist profile Born 1962 in Norfolk, England, the son of a game keeper, Paul spent the long summers of his early years immersed in the countryside surrounding his home in the sleepy village of Worstead...After leaving school a lust for adventure and foreign climates drove him to travel extensively throughout Europe, the Near East and North Africa before returning to Norfolk in the late eighties. He later became the third British person to complete the “Marathon Des Sables” a 150 mile endurance race across the South Moroccan Sahara. Experiencing the desert night skies during this adventure, “…seemingly on fire with stars” he recalls, rekindled a life long passion for astronomy. The unique contemporary art images he creates under the banner Midnightskys all have their origin in science. Transforming the data collected during an imaging session onto canvas he hopes to bring the colour and beauty of the universe into everyday lives in a completely unique way. He currently lives in Norfolk with his partner Jenny, sharing his time between a full time career, sleepless nights at the scope and developing his art images and other interests. He is also working towards a degree in planetary science and astronomy.
